Willie H. Jackson Jr., 64, of Broadnax, VA, lovingly known as "Pete" by close family, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA. He was born in Fort Lee, Virginia (Fort Gregg-Adams), on March 28, 1961, to the late Carolyn and Willie H. Jackson, Sr. from Hopewell. Willie was the second grandchild of the cherished late Elizabeth and Garfield Jackson, Sr. of Hopewell.

Willie Jr. graduated from Hopewell High School, known as the Blue Devils, in 1979. He then attended Virginia State University, where he played football for the Trojans and was the team captain for several years. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1984. He began his career at General Dynamics in Groton, CT, contributing to nuclear submarine development, and later worked for AirTouch, Global Payment, and SAIC. He concluded his career as the Infrastructure Engineering Lead at Baptist Hospital's Data Center.

An avid supporter of the Washington Redskins (Commanders), he enjoyed cheering for his favorite team. He continued his passion for sports, being deeply involved in community sports, flag football, and basketball, where his competitive spirit shined brightly.  He found joy in the energetic musical rhythms of George Clinton and The Parliament – Funkadelic.  Willie's natural talent for electronics is that he enjoys building and fixing electronic gadgets.  His enthusiasm for technology and computers inspired those around him.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vanessa Jackson; brother, Russell Jackson, Sr.; nephew, Nelson "Smurf" Jackson.

Willie's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him.  He leaves cherished precious memories to his children, Kevin Jackson of New York City, Kimberly Jackson of Atlanta, and Timothy Jackson of Lawrenceville, GA; a former spouse, Vivian Bolden-Jackson of Camarillo, CA; siblings, Lamonte Jackson of Hopewell, VA, and Deirdra Jackson of Norcross, GA, and his loving partner Joyce James of Broadnax, VA; two uncles, Garfield Jackson, Jr. (Naomi) of Peterburg, VA and Ceaser Jackson, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Hopewell, VA; five nephews, Russell Jackson, Jr., Shaquil Jackson, Symmion Jackson, Valdis Wallace, and Derry Jackson; three devoted cousins, Cheryl Ashe, Ceaser Jackson, Jr and Garfield Jackson III

A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
