Later in life he studied the Bible and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was baptized on July 16, 1976, in Hampton, VA. He enjoyed the ministry and would sometime auxiliary pioneer with his wife, Bobbie.  He studied the bible with many persons even seeing some dedicate their lives to Jehovah as he had.

During the last few months of his life, he was homebound and cherished the visits from friends, their gifts and their words of encouragement. Not only for himself but for Sister Roudette as well.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Bobbie Roudette; children, Debra A. Vincent (Ralph), Sylvia A. Macklin (Joseph), and William R. Roudette, Jr.; grandchildren, Raphael, Nakendra, Keiyana, Amber, Bryce and Shaun; a special thanks to the Todd and Bailey Families; Andrea Law and Michael Lee who were like close family in so many ways. As well as so many others who showed extraordinary kindness during brother Roudette's declining health. A special thanks goes to nurse Shannon Cook and CNA Tracee Garris-McKensie, for their patience, care and professionalism during this time.
