William Edward Manson, Jr., affectionately known as "Junie", departed this life on December 21, 2025, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia.  He was born March 18, 1952, to the late William Edward Manson, Sr. and the late Rachel Virginia Manson.

William attended Chesterfield Public Schools. He worked for several years as a groundskeeper at Virginia State College (now known as Virginia State University).  He later used those skills as a self-employed landscaper who took great pride in every job he performed, whether weeding and hedge trimming in the summer or leaf cleanup in the fall.  Junie would ride his bike to work all day at 73 and ride back home.

Junie was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and when he wasn't working, he would be watching Westerns, Sanford and Son or WWE Wrestling.

William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert & Virgie Jones and Richard & Daisy Manson; brother, Lawrence Jones and his nieces, Deborah Walker, Deidra Jones and Donna Scott.

William leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Shajuan King and Latyo Pettway (Cornelius); four grandchildren, Shayla, Kenya, and Cornelius Pettway, Jr., and Shakera Parker; devoted sister, Brenda Manson; one niece, Netiece Miller (Landre); and one nephew, Sherman Jones; several great nieces, great nephews, cousins (one devoted Lawrence Jones), and friends (devoted Garlinda Crittendon, Alvin Brown, Garrett Mason and Ryan Ruffin).

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Marcus N. Leggett, eulogist.
