Virginia Howard was born on December 18, 1946, in Murfreesboro, NC to Alton and Ruth Howard. She was the eldest of seven children.

Virginia attended C. S. Brown Schools where she graduated. After completing her education, she relocated to Washington, DC where she was employed with Pepco Electric Company. Following her retirement after 30 years of service, she returned home to be around her family and friends.

Virginia accepted Christ at an early age and exhibited the love of Christ throughout her life, sharing the message of God's love and exhibiting God's characteristics through her walk.

Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Alton T. Howard; mother, Ruth Howard; and her brother, Orville Britt.

Virginia leaves to cherish her precious memories to her devoted sisters, Annie Lois Vaughan of Murfreesboro, NC, Annie Laura Newsome of Richmond, VA, Bernice Mitchell (Charles) and Attorney Vernice B. Howard Williams (Johnnie) both of Murfreesboro, NC and Rose H. Pulley (Sammy) of Raleigh, NC; three aunts, Catherine Britt of Murfreesboro, NC, Jean Britt of New Carrollton, VA and Frances Howard of Hampton, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends who will remember the loved she shared.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Parker's Grove Baptist Church, 131 Mapleton Road, Murfreesboro, NC, the Rev. Cyrus B. Waters, Sr., Pastor and eulogist, Elder Brenda B. McEachern, officiating. The interment to follow at The Howard Family Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC.
