Obituary

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, God peacefully called, Mr. Thomas J. Williams, affectionally known as "East Coast" home, with his family by his side. Thomas was born on June 19, 1949, to the late Leander and Ruth Ella Williams. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Williams; his brother, Robert E. Williams; his cousin who was like a brother, Charles H. Harrison "Beefsteak," and other relatives.

Thomas attended Petersburg Public Schools and retired from the Chesterfield County School System. Thomas was a very caring and loving person who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows, collecting classic cars, riding motorcycles, going to thrift stores, flea markets, traveling to North Carolina and California, and spending time with his loved ones.

Thomas was known to have had a swag style and being called, "Cool Moe" by those he encountered. He enjoyed wearing cheerful colored clothing, sunglasses, caps, and dancing at functions. Thomas was a people's person with a good sense of humor who never met a stranger. He will be truly missed.
