Tameka B. Jackson "Meka"

Tameka B. Jackson known as "Meke," departed this life on October 22, 2026, at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, to the late Toye Jackson and Richard Townes.

She was preceded in death by her son, DeQuincy Jackson; maternal grandmother, Marion Platt; grandfather, Jake Platt; great aunts, Clemetine Stewart and Olga Thompson; and cousin, Glenn Thompson.

Tameka attended Petersburg Public Schools, where she completed her education through the tenth grade. She later pursued her General Educational Development (GED) diploma to further her education. She had several occupations.

Tameka was a funny, outspoken, loving, and caring person whose vibrant personality and warm heart touched everyone she encountered. She had a special way of making others feel loved and appreciated, and her presence brought laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories to those around her. Above all, Tameka cherished her family and friends, especially her beloved children and grandchildren. The love she had for them was immeasurable, and the beautiful bond they shared was truly one of a kind. Tameka also loved her husband unconditionally. Their relationship was built on a strong, unbreakable bond, and the special love they shared was a testament to their devotion to one another. Tameka also held a special place in her heart for her extended family, the Browns, who loved and embraced her just as dearly.

Tameka was a die-hard Washington Commanders fan who proudly supported her team. She had a beautiful spirit, a vibrant personality, and a special way of bringing smiles to those around her. Whenever someone asked Tameka what she was doing, she would confidently reply with her favorite saying, “Looking beautiful as always!” And beautiful she was, both inside and out.

Tameka leaves to cherish her memories: a loving devoted husband, Daniel Bell; children, Christoria and Chrstopher Brown, Crystal, Crishell and Criseandria Wyche; several grandchildren to include, Arione Jacobs, Tristan Jones, Reagan Brown, and Alanna Riddick; siblings, Cantrece Jackson (Timothy) and Derek Jackson, Sr. (Tracy), and Diana Johnson; aunt, Karen Miller; favorite cousin/sis, her “Lil Girl”, Latasha Green (Takefa); nieces two devoted, Lavesta Jackson (Johnny) and LaQuinta Brown; MaQuisha Green, Kadjah Claiborne, Tiara Jones and Tosha Garnett; nephew, Dequon and Derek Jackson, Jr., Carlos Turner, Tyrone Thomas and Jamarious Gilmore; cousins, Javon Green, Dorrell, DeCarlos and Sharrell Coleman and D'Wanna Goode; goddaughter, Kennedi Jones; two babies that she loved so much, Kyro Thompson and Amiere Jacobs; a devoted friend, Andrea Gilmore; her best friend, Alysia Briggs and Katrina Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
