Steve T. Lee

“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or die we belong to the Lord.” Romans 14:8

Steve Thomas Lee passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at Bon Secours Hospital, Petersburg, Virginia. He was born on July 6, 1954, to Milton and Lou Lee and grew up surrounded by family and faith in God. He attended Community Independent Methodist Church (formerly known as Lee’s Chapel AME Zion Church).

Steve attended school in Chesterfield County. He worked for many years in construction and landscaping. He loved hunting and fishing. He would come home from fishing trips telling stories about how he caught the biggest fish, but the fish always got away. We will cherish those stories in our memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Lee Sr. and Lou Lee; sisters, Estele Wilkins and Gereldine Lee; brothers, Robert Lee, Milton Lee, Jr., Wesley Lee, James Lee and Roy Lee; and his aunt, Eula B. Lee.

Steve leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted sister, Eula E. Lee and extended family, Eugene Lee (Janice), Ernest Lee (June), Raymond Lee, Ellen Coleman (Charles); a devoted friend, Charlene Harris and Mrs. Mildred Coles whom he lovingly called mother-in-law; and a host nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Bon Secours ICU Unit-2 Staff for their services while Mr. Lee was in the hospital.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 26, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Pate Pearson, eulogist.
