Stephen Dana Bardsley, 71, of Spring Grove, VA, affectionately known as "Steve and PapPap", departed this life on August 28, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1954, in Waltham, MA, to Patricia Reid and Paul James Bardsley. Steve attended Littleton High School in Massachusetts and after high school he joined the United States Navy (FN3). He was self-employed and the owner of SB & Sons since 1984.

Steve's hobbies included: woodworking, floating the Nottoway River and playing poker with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Bardsley, Jr. and Clifford Bardsley; and his beloved dog, Czar.

Steve leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Bardsley; children, Stephen Bardsley, Jr. and girlfriend, Stefanie Shawkey, David Bardsley and wife Jessica Bardsley and Jennifer McCann; grandchildren, David Bardsley, Jr., Alissa Bardsley, Austin Bardsley, Isabelle Sutherland, Makenzie Bardsley, Anthony Harris, Joselyn Sutherland, Stephen Bardsley III, Morgan Bardsley, Leigha Bardsley, Ian Tocci, Alexis Tocci and Maddison Shawkey; great grandchildren, Elliana Bardsley, Ariana Bardsley, Willow Bardsley, Lyla Bardsley, Genevieve Bardsley and Christian Harris; siblings, Phillip Bardsley, Keith Bardsley, Darlene Mullaney, Pamela Birch and Brenda Bowen; beloved dog, Max; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Beaverdam Sportsman Club, 8424 Beaverdam Road, Waverly, VA.
