Stefon Artez Hayes, affectionately known by many as "Fresh", passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 39. He was born on October 15, 1985, in Richmond, Virginia, and was a native of Hopewell, Virginia.

Stefon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geraldine Hayes, Melvin Hayes, Gloria Sills and Lonnie Sills, Jr.; father, Lonnie Sills III; brother, Londre Claiborne; uncles, Reginald Hayes, Timothy Hayes and Edward Sills; and his aunt, Beverly Sills.

Stefon was a graduate of Hopewell High School, where he made many lifelong friendships. A true Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Stefon was known for his favorite saying, "WHO YOU WIT!", and for his ability to bring laughter wherever he went. Stefon worked at AdvanSix until his health declined due to Covid. His humorous spirit and gift of making others smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Stefon loved spending time with his family and enjoyed moments filled with fun, laughter, and good company. He was a devoted father and found joy in creating memories with his children.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  five beloved children, Damoni Hayes, Nymier Hayes, Denasiah Hayes, Milan Hayes, and Khloe Williams. His legacy will live on in them, and the love he poured into their lives will never be forgotten.

Stefon is survived by his mother, Stephanie Hayes. He also leaves behind his brother, Lonnie Brown; and sisters, Kisha Cheatham and LaKeesha Hayes-Winfield (Kristopher) who will deeply miss his protective love and the laughter he brought into their lives.

Stefon's memory will be carried on by a host of aunts: Melvena Brown, Stacy Hayes, Tina Hayes, Aisha McDonald, Savanah Mason, Lemoine Parham, Penelope Parham, Bridgette Sills, Sharon Jones (Andre), and Evelyn Williams (Larry). His uncles include: Gregory Sills (Valerie), Vincent Claiborne, and Reginald Jones (Melissa).

Stefon's nephews are Ronnie Walker Jr., TreVeyon Henderson, KeSean Henderson, and TyShaun Newby, and his nieces are Zhane' Gee and Jazmine Hinton. He was also blessed with great nieces, Nevaeh Browder and Promise Harvey; and a great nephew, Pren'syn Harvey who he loved dearly.

His memory will also be cherished by his devoted cousins: Angelina Branch, LaJoy Hayes, Britney Hayes, Quineisha Hayes, Dermoin Sills, Tywarren Sills, and Jennifer Jones; along with a host of devoted friends who will always remember his bright spirit, love for family, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met.

Stefon's life was a reflection of love, laughter, and resilience. His ability to light up a room and his dedication to those he loved will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory continue to bring comfort and peace to his family and friends in the days ahead.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 18, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Rudolph Randall, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
