Shirley Jung Hooker of Petersburg, Virginia departed this life on January 6, 2026. She was 90 years old.

Born on December 14, 1935 in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the only child of Johnny Harris and Margaret (Paige). Shirley brought love and kindness to everyone who knew her.

Mrs. Hooker was married to the late James E. Hooker of Hanover County, Virginia. Shirley leaves five children to cherish her memory: Donald Jung, Raymonde Jung, Ray Jung, Sherrie Jung (Brown) and Terry Jung. She was additionally blessed with 12 grandchildren, Kerri Roseman (Roddy Jr.), Tracie DeWitt (Chad), Donna Gordan (Tony), Gabriel Jung, Whitney Wright (Byron Jr.), Britney Maddox (Richard III), Kristin Walker (Marcello Jr.), Krystal James (Linwood III), Leighton Jung, Letecia Jung, Sabrina Battle, and Derrick Jung;  and  twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, 7324 Church Road, North Dinwiddie, VA, the Rev. Herbert Holly II, eulogist.
