Our hearts are saddened by the passing of our love one, Mr. Russell A. Mitchell, affectionately known as "Booly", who departed this life on Friday, May 29, 2026, to be with his Lord and Saviour.  Russell was born on March 22, 1983, to Doris E. Mitchell and James T. Wilson.

Russell was a very kindhearted person.  He would do anything for anyone.  Russell loved to go over to his friends houses to sit and talk.  He was famous for running errands; going to the store for his friends (that's just the kind of guy that he was), and he was also family wise. Russell definitely loved his family, especially his one and only nephew, DaVante. Russell would brag about how smart and talented he was. He was one "Proud Uncle".

Russell was educated in the Petersburg Public Schools.  He was a proud graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 2001.

He was preceded in death by his father who he loved so much, James T. Wilson and his grandmother, Doris E. Mitchell Washington.

Russell leaves precious memories to: his loving mother, Doris E. Mitchell of Baltimore, Maryland; one sister, Delisa A. Mitchell-Robinson of Baltimore, Maryland; one nephew, Davante C. Robinson of Baltimore, Maryland; two aunts, devoted aunt, Martha A. Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Virginia and his loving aunt, Hazel Wilson of Petersburg, Virginia; three uncles, Samuel A. Mitchell and Kirby Mitchell both of Petersburg, Virginia and Timothy Brown of Victoria, Virginia; and a host of cousins, other relatives and so many friends too numerous to name.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 12, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Corey Baker, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
