On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia, God's angels came to escort Ruby L. Hatch to her heavenly home.

Born on July 7, 1940, in Waverly, Virginia, she was the oldest child of the late Johnnie Sr. and Alberta Boothe.

Ruby was known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to her family. She brought immeasurable joy to those around her and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory and to rejoice in her eternal peace: her daughter, Phyllis L. Thomas (Leon); her sons, Rudolph K. Hatch (CeeCee) and Lee Juan D. Hatch (Horacio); two grandchildren, Kevin Hunter (Cianna) and Darrell Howell (Shante); eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Boothe, Johnnie Boothe, Jr., and William Boothe (Renita); sibling-like companions, Herman and Diann Delk; additional three sisters-in-law; one brother in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends; and her close friend, Linda Bracy.

Who will never forget the love Ruby brought into her life.
