Robert M. Keller, age 88, departed this life on December 31, 2025, at The Crossings at Ironbridge in Chester, Virginia.  He was born on August 17, 1937, in Washington, Pennsylvania, to the late Herman Harris and Vivian Keller Johnson.

Robert, who was better known as Bob, graduated from Fashion High School in New York City. Robert attended North Carolina A&T University on a basketball scholarship. Robert pursued and furthered his education at Touro University in New York City, where he received a Bachelor's Degree and a Certificate in Counseling.

Robert played professional basketball in the ABL for one year with the Washinton Generals and eight years in the Eastern Professional Basketball League.  Robert was employed with the New York State Division for Youth as a Youth Counselor.  He retired in 1991, with 28 years of service. Robert also was a Veteran of the United States Army.

His hobbies were in various sports such as basketball, bowling, tennis, and many more, where he received numerous medals and trophies.

Robert was married to Audrey Clayest Taylor, and to that union one son, Sterling Robert Keller.

Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Clayest Taylor Keller; his son, Sterling Keller; granddaughters, Raven Keller, Storie Parker, and Aliyah Clayton; great grandchildren, Savion Keller and Xyra Felts; sisters-in-law, Nannie Bailey and Shirley Taylor.  Robert has one surviving first cousin, Bobby (Keller) Kelley of Detroit, Michigan, and a very good friend, Michael Rodriquez, who he considered a son; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 19, 2026, at Southlawn Memorial Park.
