It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Randall Howard Smith,who departed this life on May 19, 2026, at age 78.

Randall was born on November 29, 1947, in Tennessee to the late Mr. James H. Smith and Frances Turner.  In addition to his parents, Randall was preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Rodger, James W. Smith and Terry C. Smith.

Randall attended Peabody High School, where he received his diploma.  He later continued his education at VirginiaState University.  Before completing his college studies, Randall honorably served his country in Korean/Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, sacrifice, and dedication to service.

A man of faith, Randall was affiliated with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Petersburg, where he maintained fellowship and spiritual connection. Randall leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife, Margart M. Smith; two stepchildren, Yolanda Jones and Howard Jones; his beloved sister, Pamela Smith; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Pitt and Esther Maye; brother-in-law, Earl Maye; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was a loving husband, father-figure, brother and uncle, whose presence and guidance will be deeply missed. Randall H. Smith will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, faith and service to his family and country. Though he has transitionedfrom earthly life, his legacy of love and honor lives on forever in the heartsof those who knew and loved him.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.  The interment at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
