Obituary

God, in his infinite wisdom, called our beloved angel, Quanda L. Eaves into eternal rest on March 6, 2026.

Quanda was born on September 4, 1954, to the late Aaron L. Cooper and Ernestine M. Cooper. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at Union Hill United Church of Christ in Sedley, Virginia. She later shared her faith and fellowship as a member of Royal Baptist Church and Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia.

A proud product of the Sussex Public School system, Quanda was a member of the Sussex Central High School Class of 1972. She continued her education at Virginia State University, where she earned her undergraduate and master's degrees and began a lifelong connection to the Trojan community.

A Life of Service
Quanda devoted many years of her professional life to Virginia State University. Her passion for geography and history led her to become a classroom teacher, where she helped to shape young minds with Sussex County Public Schools, where she served as a dedicated teacher until her retirement. After retiring, Quanda served as a substitute teacher with Petersburg City Public Schools.
