Obituary

Nathaniel Lee Wynn, affectionately known as "Lee", was born on May 12, 1965, in Petersburg, Virginia, to his loving mother, Sarah Pender Dougal, and his late father, Ernest Lee Wynn, Sr. He passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at HCA Virginia TriCities Hospital.

Nathaniel was a man of many talents and passions. He especially loved fishing, cooking hearty meals for those he loved, and spending time with family and friends. Known for his generous spirit and willing hands, he was always ready to lend his skills as a handyman and found great joy in helping with projects around the church community.

Throughout his life, Nathaniel worked in various positions where his dedication and work ethic were evident. He spent many years as a cook, serving at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee), Virginia State University, Tri-Cities Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, IHOP and Chipotle. His colleagues and patrons alike appreciated not only his culinary talents but also his warm personality and sense of humor.

Nathaniel now rejoins those who preceded him in passing: his beloved grandparents, John Henry Wynn and Alise Wynn, as well as Cary Reid and Annie Reid; and his dear brother, Frederick Wynn, Sr.

His memory will be forever cherished by those he leaves behind: his sisters, Andrea Goodson, Debera Walker, Terri Wheeler (James), Marilyn Claiborne (Angelo) and Shameka Wynn (Michael); brothers, Ernest Wynn, Jr. and Carlos Wynn (Vickie); children, Ciera Wynn and Shanee Wynn, Tiera Wynn and Autral Washington; grandchildren, Z'Morae Wynn, Travis Moore, Jr. and Kylee Tucker; nephews, Malik Wheeler, Kewanee Wynn, Chykeem Clark , Shakari Perry, Michael Perry, Jr., Akeem Wynn, Karon Wynn, Kevin Wynn, Johnelle Goodson, Dré'Quan Claiborne, Frederick Peterson, Jr., Shedrick Peterson and Derrick Peterson; aunts, Delores Scott, Mary Mason, Paulette Reid and Jackie Green and Phyllis Reid; uncle, Raymond Wynn; nieces, Ashley Wynn, Whitney Walker, Krystal Walker, Falathia Peterson, Makya Claiborne, Lashera Wynn, Shanica Batts ( Brian) and Tamesha Hicks. He is also fondly remembered by his first wife, Natalie Wynn; and a host of extended family members, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Donnie and Shirley Warren held Lee in their hearts as family, and Lee, in turn, embraced them as his own.

We would also like to send special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of HCA Virginia TriCities Hospital who provided Lee with such love and care in his last weeks of his life here on earth.
