Obituary

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Miracle Lashea Hertsch, who departed this life on June 13, 2026, at the age of 24.

Born on January 16, 2002, Miracle was the beloved daughter of Shanika Jones and Richard Hertsch, Jr. She was a devoted mother, loving daughter, cherished sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Above all, Miracle was a proud and loving mother to Kaizen Eli Hertsch, who was truly the love of her life. She treasured every moment spent with her son and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Miracle was known for her beautiful smile, compassionate heart, and vibrant spirit. She loved spending time with her loved ones and had a passion for dancing. Her infectious laughter, caring nature, and ability to brighten any room left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Miracle was a dedicated and hardworking young woman who took great pride in helping others. She was a graduate of Matoaca High School, where she completed the Advanced Studies Program. In 2024, she graduated from Chester Career College, successfully completing the Nurse Aide Program and becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was passionate about caring for others and quickly became a valued member of the healthcare community.

During her career as a CNA, Miracle was recognized as Employee of the Quarter for her outstanding dedication and compassionate care. At the time of her passing, she was employed at Wonder City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she had recently been selected to serve as a Restorative Aide, a role that reflected the confidence and respect her colleagues and supervisors had in her abilities and commitment to her patients.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her son, Kaizen Eli Hertsch; her parents, Shanika Jones and Richard Hertsch, Jr.; her siblings, Takayla Hertsch (Marcus), Kierra Hertsch, SaDarion Hertsch (Toleah) Amari Epps, Richa Hertsch, Corinthian Greene, and Carnation Greene; her grandparents, Veronica and Timothy Street; her aunts, Candace Briggs, Misty Hertsch, Debveeta Greene, and Shamene Greene; her uncle, Clifton Raigns, Jr. (Candace); devoted cousin, Ariyana Briggs; her homegurl, Indonesia Campbell; devoted friend, Gregory; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, coworkers, and loved ones who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Miracle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Diane Eubank, Richard Hertsch, Sr., Curley Greene, Jacqueline Greene, and Clifton Raigns Sr.; her great-grandparents, Brenda Epps and Curtis Barnes; her uncle, Aaron Briggs; and her cousin, Jessica Berry.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Miracle's legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on through her son, her family, and the many lives she touched. Her memory will remain a source of comfort, inspiration, and love for all who knew her.
