Obituary

Today, we celebrate the life of a beautiful woman, Michelle Diane Harris, a woman who was kind, strong and full of life. She had a heart big enough to hold her entire family and she showed that love daily. She was the kind of person who could walk into a room and instantly make everyone laugh and smile. Even though she couldn't carry a tune, that never stopped her from singing her heart out. She sang because she loved life, her family and the joy she received from singing. She carried herself with grace through good and bad days. We are thankful to God for giving us the time we had with her. Her love, joy and spirit will never fade. Today, we smile through our tears knowing that she is resting in peace, singing with the angels and surrounded by the love she gave so freely on earth.

As a child, Michelle was a member of Second Baptist Church in Chester, VA. She held several jobs as a housekeeper and always took great pride in her work. She also had a job as a forklift driver, and it was often said that she was one of the "best drivers" the job had ever seen.

On October 16, 2025, Michelle, the youngest daughter of William and Julia Harris, was called home to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her family and her loving and devoted companion, Alex Hindrix.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, William Harris, Sr.; grandparents, George L. Hancock, Sr. and Margaret M. Hancock, Johnie and Gussie Harris; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Michelle leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children, Daquane, Ethen, Daquesha, Joshua, Alexis, Julia and Asia; grandchildren, Triniti and Serenity; her mother, Julia Harris; siblings, William Harris, Jr., Toneka Walker, Kimberly Harris, Renada Bonelli (Michael) and Sharon White (Greg Sr.); a good friend and neighbor, Emmanuel Jones; loving a d devoted companion, Alex Hindrix; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

We will truly miss all the jokes and good times Michelle brought into our lives, but we rejoice knowing that she is now free from all hurt and pain and is now resting in God's arms.

A very nourishing mother, she always made a way, even when the way wasn't clear. She was a fighter, and she taught us how to survive. Rest easy Michelle… it's not goodbye but see you later.
