Obituary

Melinda Elizabeth Parham departed this life peacefully on June 30, 2026, at VCU Health Medical Center, Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita L. Turner and Leroy Raines; and her stepfather, Thaddeus Turner.

Melinda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and friend. She was a die hard StarTrack and Betty Boop fan. Melinda was a great listener, an amazing advice giver and was always willing to help in any way she could. A woman of integrity, she was never afraid to speak her mind when the moment called for it or give you a particular look if you were about to say or do something she didn't approve of. At the end of the day, Melinda made everyone feel at home with her welcoming and motherly spirit. Above all, she was a fighter until the very end.

Melinda's memory will forever be cherished by her devoted daughter, Juanessa Williams; grandchildren, Matthew Raines, Antoinette Williams, Kristopher Williams and Tyler Story; great grandchildren, Karter Raines, Cameron Raines, Kaylen Raines, Amber Raines and Hero Muroe; honorary sons and daughters whom she would call "Juanessa's Crew"; along with a host of cousins and friends who will carry her spirit in their hearts.

In Honoring Melinda's life, let us remember her not only for the roles she played but for the light she brought into every room, the laughter she shared, and the love that she generously gave. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy remains an indelible part of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rest in eternal peace, dear mama, in the arms of those who have gone before. Job well done. Until we meet again.
