Mortashia was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Above all, she loved God and held a deep faith that guided her through life. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished with all her heart. In her spare time, Mortashia found immense joy in life’s fun and relaxing moments. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing competitive games of Spades, traveling to new places, keeping her mind sharp with crossword puzzles and Sudoku, and treating herself to her favorite fragrances and other items from Bath & Body Works.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Magnolia Hunter Cook; and the love of her life, Michael Antoine Tabon.

Mortashia’s memory will be forever cherished by her father, Ervin Barnes; her six children; her precious grandchild, Ka’ Lani Myrick; her siblings, Wilson “Randy” Daniels (Emily), Lawanza Daniels Outlaw (Jammie), Crystal Daniels, Jeffrey Daniels, and Tierra Daniels; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Her warmth, kindness, vibrant spirit, deep love for Jesus Christ, and unwavering love for her family will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
