Obituary

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our loved one, Mr. Mario Alonzo Davis, Sr., 43, of Petersburg, Virginia.  Mario was born May 26, 1982, to Gloria and Willie Davis, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Loretha Lee and Willie Allen McClinton Davis, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Blanche and Arthur Thompson; uncle, Wayne E. Davis; great uncle, Samuel Davis; first cousins, Anthony Craig Davis, Jr. and Kendra Kia Holcomb; and his nephew, Quinten D. Johnson, Jr.

He confessed his life at an early age and was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As a child, Mario developed a passion for detailing cars because he was always given the task of helping his father wash cars. As time passed the pandemic came and nevertheless, he found out about DoorDash and detailing was put to the side. Mario would DoorDash from sunup to sundown. DoorDash was his passion and he would recruit anyone to make extra money. Mario was well-known and loved by the community due to his smile and personality.

Mourning their loss, but left to cherish his memories are his children which he loved, Destiny Johnson, Mario Davis, Jr. (June June), Naudiah Davis (NaNa) and Nyajah Davis; two brothers, Antonio Davis (Tony) and Willie Davis III (Little Willie); one sister, Janet Davis; stepmother, Carolyn Jean Davis; godfather, Roman Brinsten; godsister, G'Nae Ashby; aunts, Shirley Thompson, Darlene L.
