Obituary

Mrs. Marilyn L. Tucker tragically passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1964, in Petersburg, Virginia.

Marilyn was a woman who found true joy in the simple things; keeping a clean and organized home, filling every room with music, and creating a peaceful, loving environment for everyone who entered her space. Her doors were always open, and her heart was even wider. She never hesitated to be there for others and made neighborhood children feel as though they were her very own.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved with an unconditional heart. She devoted herself fully to her family, offering guidance, encouragement and support through every milestone, every challenge and every celebration. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, filled with laughter, stories, and the quiet strength that only she could provide.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort knowing that her legacy of love, compassion and endless care will live on throughout the many lives she touched deeply. She will be forever missed, forever remembered, and forever cherished.

Lucille was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Wynn; father, Harold Scott; husband, Ricky Tucker; and her beloved siblings, Emanuel Scott, Phyllis Scott, Keith Hooper and Debra Hooper.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughters, Shaquina Wynn, Shonta Wynn and stepdaughter, Shonte Morgan; adored grandchildren, Shakira, Avion, Shakiyah, Jamarion, Journey and her "Pie" A'ryann. She is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Valentine, Sharon, Malinda and Penny Hooper, Priscilla Scott-Thomas, Jeanette Scott, Kimberleah James, Gloria Scott and Veronica Davis; six brothers, Micheal Ward, James Edmonds, Jr., Harold Scott, Jr., Matthew Scott, Anthony Burks and Harold Bell; her devoted friends, Marlo Westry, Dena West, Pennie Jones and Markeyta Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Alexander Williams, eulogist.
