Marcus A.
Rives, Jr. "Milk"
May 14, 2010 — May 21, 2026
Marcus Antonio Rives, Jr. (Milk), 16, of Raleigh, North Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his residence. Marcus was born May 14, 2010, to Sherrita Anderson and Marcus Rives, Sr.
Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents, Natalie Camel and Michael Rives; great-grandmothers, Bertha May and Annie Clanton; great uncles, Irving, Kenneth, Elwood, James, Eugene, Curtis, and Jerry; great aunts, Edna, Linda, Thelma, Shirley, Marion, Patricia, and Dorothy and his cousin, Tayona.
Marcus was born in Petersburg, Virginia, and attended school in North Carolina at Athens High School, where he was in the tenth grade. Marcus loved rapping, sports, selling candy, and goofing off with friends and family. Even though God only blessed us with sixteen laps around the sun, his presence was a blessing to us. He brought so much love and laughter to family and friends. Marcus was known as Milk and K5. Marcus was a leader.
Marcus had a small lemonade business where he was in commercials. He would give you the shirt off his back. He opened his doors to any kids in need. He was a safe space for kids. He was a protector of his siblings and everyone around him.
Marcus found God at an early age in life. He was so young but had a major impact on the lives around him. Marcus loved eating, riding go-karts, traveling, swimming, and spending other people's money. Our hearts are impacted forever.
