"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" - John 3:16
Mrs. Marciel Love, 63, of Shreveport, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2025, after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 21, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of Roxie Mills.
Over the years, Marciel lived a life full of love and friendship. She had a brief stint in the military before settling into a career in nursing. After retiring from nursing, Marciel enjoyed traveling, trying new cuisines, and spending time with her family and friends. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marciel was a cornerstone to her family and will be sorely missed.
Marciel was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Mills.
She leaves to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy of love: a devoted husband, James Love; four well-loved children, Kelly Mills, Sr., RoCarlos Mills, Dominicke Mills and Jolisa Mills-Sheets (Eugene); seven spoiled grandchildren, JaCarlos, LaShay, Tyrone, Kelly Jr, Kerigan, Midori and Eugene; two adorable great grandchildren; and a loving brother, Martin Mills; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends with dear places in her heart.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 228 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Willis Foster, officiating. A separate celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Coushatta, LA. The interment at St. Mark Cemetery, Ringgold, LA.
