On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, God in His infinite mercy called Lorine Johnson Roney home to glory. Lorine was born April 18, 1965 to the late Ann Thomas and Lorenzo Johnson.

Lorine was the middle of five siblings. She was preceded in death by her son, Neil Johnson; daughter-in-law, Leslie Johnson; grandson, Ke'Nan Roney and her stepfather, Leon Thomas.

Lorine was educated in the Petersburg Public School System. She was employed at Riverview Appomattox Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hopewell, VA. To know her was to love her, Lorine was as welcoming as her heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her grandchildren, great nieces and great nephew.

She leaves to cherish in her memories: two devoted children, Marvino Johnson and Kwayneisha Roney (Javaad); two brothers, Bernard Johnson, and Gonzalas Johnson (Bridget); two sisters, Joan Jones (Steve), and Tracey Johnson (Reggie); three bonus children, Derrick Stewart, Sherron Spain, and Micheal Lynch. Seven grandchildren Jaela Cole, O'Ryan Johnson, Leilani Johnson, Ja'Kwaysijah Fisher, Marquis Johnson, Marnaija Johnson and Ryann Johnson; one nephew, Anthony Johnson; two nieces, De'Aisha Johnson and Keionda Johnson (Sean); eight great nieces and nephews, Ja'Kayden Minter, Kamira Johnson, De'Kailyn Johnson, Jaidyn Johnson, Malaijah Johnson, Romello Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Jr. and great-great nephew, Jeremiah Johnson. Lorine was excited and patiently waiting on two grandsons and a great nephew.

Furthermore, we would like to thank Joyce Roney for being her second mom and always being by her side.

Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 18, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
