The world lost a truly remarkable man on June 30, 2026. Lloyd Allen Ford, Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories. Lloyd Jr was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Ford and Lloyd Ford Sr.; sister, Gale Ford; and brothers, Reginald Ford and Nathaniel Ford.

Lloyd had a long and fulfilling career as a custodian and he took great pride in his work. That was a role he truly enjoyed largely because of the wonderful people he had the opportunity to work with every day. On February 20, he retired from Chippenham Hospital due to a decline in his health.

Lloyd Jr. was a man of many passions. Whether he was outdoors enjoying some quality fishing time with family and friends, watching his favorite western shows or simply spending quiet evenings with his family, Lloyd lived life with a warm and gentle spirit. He had an incredible ability to make those around him feel valued and loved.

His proudest achievement was his family. Lloyd's memory will be forever kept alive by his son, Lloyd Ford III; his sisters, Michelle and Dorothy; brothers, Roy and Michael; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the countless friends whose lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 17, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Glinda Ford, eulogist.
