Linda E.
Parker
Oct 13, 1956 — Oct 21, 2025
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, God called one of His angels home, Linda Evon Parker, age 69. Surrounded by love, she peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal rest.
Linda's story began on October 13, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she was born to her devoted mother, the late Flora Revon Worthy. From the very beginning, Linda was a light, full of energy, beauty, and confidence. She later moved to Washington, D.C., where she attended public schools and proudly graduated from Calvin Coolidge Senior High School. Linda gave birth to two beautiful children Donnell and Danielle.
At an early age, Linda accepted Christ and became a member of St. Marks Baptist Church, where she joyfully sang in the VE Gospel Chorus. Her love for music and worship filled her heart with purpose and peace. After relocating to South Chesterfield, Virginia, she continued her walk of faith as a member of Union Branch Baptist Church, where she worshiped faithfully, found another loving church family and became affectionately known as "Shouting Linda".
Even as a young woman, Linda carried herself with grace and a natural flair for fashion. She loved modeling and was known for her radiant smile that could brighten any room. Over the years, she became affectionately known as the "Bling Queen", a title she wore with pride. Whether she was stepping out for an evening or simply running errands, Linda sparkled from head to toe. Her jewelry, her outfits, her style, everything always matched, and everything always shined, just like her spirit.
Professionally, Linda found purpose and fulfillment in her work. She began her career as a phlebotomist, later joining the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services, where she served faithfully for 32 years. Her dedication, professionalism, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. In 2023, after decades of service, Linda retired and quickly settled in South Chesterfield, Virginia, beginning a peaceful new chapter surrounded by family and love.
Linda loved life and lived it fully. She enjoyed the thrill of Atlantic City and could often be found at the casino, laughing, talking, and enjoying the company of friends. Music was one of her greatest joys. She loved singing gospel songs that lifted her spirit, as well as her old-school soul favorites that brought back sweet memories. Whenever the music played, Linda couldn't help but move, dancing and swaying her hips to the beat with that signature sparkle in her eyes. But her greatest joy came from being "GiGi." Her grandchildren were her heart, her laughter, her purpose, and her greatest pride. Whether cheering them on at school events, sharing meals, or simply spending quiet time together, those moments were the treasures she held closest.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Flora Revon Worthy; grandparents, Flora and Willie Battle; one aunt, Brenda Quick; and five uncles, Willie Rufus Parker, Eddie Crosby, Jr., William Battle, Albert Battle and Paul Quick, Sr.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and sparkle that will never fade. She is cherished and remembered by her loving children, Donnell Parker (Patrice) and Danielle "Nuru" Dos Santos (Evandro); four adored grandchildren, Elijah, Arianna, Karley, and Ajani; one brother, Linwood Parker; two aunts, Dornetha Crosby and Lula Parker; two uncles, Alfred Parker, Jr. and Anthony Earl Battle; devoted cousins, Bernadine Lewis, Pamela Parker, Towanna Parker Lewis, Deborah Anderson, and Sheri Parker-Tyler; one nephew, Matthew Parker; one niece, Raven Parker; two great nieces; a host of cousins and a circle of dear friends who became family, Docia Sanders, Charlene Cooke and Family, Kevin Dove and Family, Paula Brown, Juanita Barksdale, Lynnora Walker, Patricia Brown, David Skerritt, Jr., Rochelle Tucker and Family, Dominique Harris and Family, Rhonda Brown and Family, Finnel Mahone and Family, Delores Goode and Family, Union Branch Baptist Church Family, and Ettrick Recreation Senior Citizens Family.
Linda will forever be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her sparkle with a dash of glitter and bling, and her boundless love. She lived each day with grace, generosity, and joy, truly a queen in every sense of the word. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to her devoted and loving caregivers, Rochelle Tucker, Esther Kirkendoll, Patricia Brown, Shannon Webb, and At-Home Care and Hospice Team for their compassion and care.
Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Union Branch Baptist Church, 11519 River Road, Chesterfield, VA, the Rev. Dr. Gregory M. Howard, Pastor, eulogist. The interment will be private.
