Linda Marie Nye, 71, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia.

Linda was born on October 13, 1953, in Nags Head, North Carolina, to the late Charles Edger Nye and Mary Frances Nye. She graduated from Thomas Dale High School and later attended community college. Linda built her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working for several nursing homes including Lucy Corr and Concordia, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. After many years of service, she retired from Walmart in Petersburg, Virginia.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Linda's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Dion Nye (Shakeya) and Charles Andrew Nye (Rashera); and eight grandchildren, Charles Andrew Xavier Nye, Keyaree Myangel Nye, Deoni Marie Nye, Kaelyn Marie Nye, Chyna Mae Nye, Christopher Semaj Nye, Leah Rose Nye, and Clever Shantael Nye.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a devoted friend, Debra Ann Rives.

Linda was a strong, hard-working woman who dedicated her life to her boys and later to her grandchildren. She was a loving shoulder to lean on for anyone who needed her, and she cherished time spent with her family. Linda enjoyed reading her favorite romantic novels, watching Jeopardy, which she knew every answer, watching her stories, and going out to have a good time.

She will be remembered for her selflessness, her laughter, and the unconditional love she gave to all who knew her.

Though she is no longer with us, we find peace in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Herbert Holly II, eulogist.
