Lillie Mae
Hill Wilson
Apr 20, 1930 — Sep 4, 2025
The Lord blessed Sister Lillie Mae Hill Wilson with a true beginning when He adoringly called her from labor to reward, and to eternal rest on the 4th day of September 2025, five months after her ninety-fifth birthday. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, April 20, 1930, Lillie was the first born to the late Raymond Branch Hill and Willie Mae Hill. Lillie, the oldest of her siblings: Evelyn Windly (deceased George) of Petersburg, VA, Rena Sylvester (deceased Anthony) of Metuchen, NJ and Joyce Ann Lee (Alvin) both deceased.
Lillie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and joined First Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA, where she served in the gospel choir and as an usher for many years. Educated through Petersburg Public School System attending Peabody High School, in Petersburg, VA, she then moved to New York City and married the late Arthur James Wilson.
Lille was a devoted wife and mother to Gloria Jean Hill Lee (Donald deceased), Brenda Denise Jackson (Sylvester), Lynette Wilson Hill, Charles Nathanial Wilson and William Bernard Wilson.
Lille returned to Petersburg, VA and worked at Petersburg General Hospital (now Bon Secours Southside Medical Center) in the food service department until she retired after thirty years of dedicated service.
Lillie was a Foster Grandparent for Virginia State University for twelve years during her retirement. Always energetic and seeking opportunities to help others, she received her certification as a nursing assistant in her seventies and began working through the Care Advantage Home Health Agency Inc. Ready to give service, Lillie began volunteering at the food panty and clothes closet at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Petersburg, VA, later joining and attending that ministry. She attended weekly bible study and Tuesday 1:00 P.M. Prayer line until her health prevented her for doing so.
Lillie's commitment to always seek and trust God, along with her zeal for life, loving her family and to helping others sustained her with His blessing for nighty-five years! We praise God for our mother!
Lillie leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Gloria Jean Hill Lee, Brenda Denise Jackson, Lynette Wilson Hill, Charles Nathanial Wilson and William Bernard Wilson; her dedicated and attentive son-in-law, Sylvester Jackson and daughter-in-law Linda Wilson; grandchildren, Donald Lee II, Gary (deceased), Maurice (deceased) Pamela Jackson, Aaron Wilson (Darshabia) and Malik Wilson; great grandchildren, Donald Lee III, Denrick Lee, Wispree Lee, Dallen Lee, Aaron Jeremiah Wilson, Cameron Wilson, Zion Wilson, and Miyah Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, faithful caregivers, Jacqulyn Stokes, Sarah Singleton and MaKayla Tucker; and her loyal and dedicated friends and neighbors, Melissa Karen Allen and Minne Wallace.
While Lillie will be missed greatly, she has left a blueprint for the continuance of her legacy deeply rooted with prayer and faith in our family.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Reconciliation Fellowship Church, 621 West Washington Street, the Rev. Neal Young, eulogist. The interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
