Larry Baskerville, affectionately known as "Coryell" of Bronx, NY, peacefully transitioned on Saturday, July 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on December 14, 1958, to the late Spurgeon Baskerville and Willie Rogers. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Gene Hewlett, Irving Holloway and Jeffrey Rogers.

Larry attended Hopewell Public Schools and worked for the City of New York, Central Park. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. He loved to have family gatherings, and he was die-hard New York sports fan to include the New York Knicks and the New York Yankees.

Those who knew him will always remember his hoarse-like voice and his many jokes. His laugh, his smile and his kindness towards others.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Kimberly Rogers; brother, Otis Hewlett of Chester, VA; uncle, Cornelius Rogers; nephew, Christian Rogers of Bronx, New York; as well as very special cousins, Ann, Ali and Starr Marsh of Bronx NY, Roland Holloway of Richmond, Viriginia, Susie Holloway, Chris Holloway (Helene) Edna Cunningham and Leon "Mon" Holloway of Hopewell, Virginia; devoted friend, Joseph Hayes; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 2, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Benjamin Brown, eulogist. The interment will be held at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery.
