Lakeisha S.
Lewis
Jun 11, 1978 — Oct 23, 2025
Miss LaKeisha Lewis, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on June 11, 1978 in Petersburg, Virginia, to Nancy Lewis.
Lakeisha Simone Lewis was a loving mother, devoted sister, caring cousin, and cherished friend. Born and raised in Petersburg, she attended Petersburg Public Schools and proudly graduated with the Class of 1996. From an early age, Lakeisha was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and the way she naturally brought people together. Lakeisha was baptized at an early age at Trinity Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia, and later attended Higher Way Ministries, also located in Petersburg, Virginia.
Lakeisha made her life's work in service to others. She built a career in the mental health field, where she found her purpose in caregiving and supporting individuals in need. Her compassion, patience, and genuine love for people made her impact unforgettable to all she assisted. Lakeisha also served correctional services at Sussex Prison, demonstrating strength, dedication, and a deep commitment to her work and community.
Known for her loyalty and unwavering love, Lakeisha was the heart of her family. She believed deeply in togetherness and showed her affection through presence, humor, and unwavering support. She lit up every room she entered, bringing joy, laughter, and comfort to all who were blessed to know her. Her family and friends will always remember her as someone with a beautiful spirit, generous heart, and a soul full of light.
Preceded in death by her brother, Breon Lewis; her grandmother, Elnora (Nicholas) Lewis; her uncle, George "Vernon" Lewis; her two aunts, Carolyn Jones and Costella Lewis-Coleman; and her first cousin, Micheal Jones, Sr.
Lakeisha leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and love. Though her time here has ended, the memory of her warmth, her laughter, and the love she poured into others will remain forever. As she is survived by her daughter, Sta'Sha Lakia Lewis and her one and only son, Keon Maurek Lewis who thought he was the father of Keisha and Sta'Sha. We cannot forget the unforgettable "Blue." Wherever you saw Keisha Lewis, you saw Blue right beside her. Their bond was unbreakable. And as we often say, "Dog" spelled backward is "GOD"—a true reflection of the love, loyalty, and divine companionship they shared.
