Kisha Michelle Smith, age 49, of Richmond, Virginia, was born on January 3, 1977, to the late Linda Smith and Eric Sanchez in New Orleans, Louisiana. She departed this life on January 16, 2026, at HCA Virginia Johnston-Willis Hospital.

Kisha, affectionately known as "Nook", attended McDonogh No. 16 School. Thereafter, she also attended Cosmetology Beauty College in New Orleans and Virginia College for Nursing.

Kisha attended First New Zion Baptist in New Orleans, Louisiana and New Beginning in Richmond, Virginia. She loved going to church and enjoyed singing. Kisha held several jobs to include Nurse & Care Advantage, Inc., Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital. She also loved doing hair and could do it with her eyes closed.

Kisha enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing (she could dance better than most and would often challenge you), having cookouts and seafood boils. She had good taste in home goods and interior design and found joy in decorating her home. She had a love for fashion and always made sure herself, her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and even her siblings hair and fashion were up to par.

Kisha was outgoing and she lived life to the fullest. She was always straight to the point, and she never held anything back. She was a mother to seven children and seventeen grandchildren. She loved being a mother and a sister. She was always a go-getter and a hard worker. She never seemed to surprise anyone with her big heart and even bigger smile.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Ollie Smith and Mary Smith; nephew, O'ustin Spratley; niece, O'llyn Spratley; aunts, Toni, Paulette and Helen; and her significant other, Tony.

Kisha leaves to cherish her memories her children, Keosha Smith, Benisha Smith, Benjamin Smith, Linda Smith, Elijah Bartley, Kerry Bartley and Micah Smith; step child, Kayla Harris; grandchildren, Amari, Kayia, Amere, Donmanic, Chosen, Dynasty, Damir, Demetri, A'avah, Kamari, Sincere, Messiah, Justice, Elijah, Legend and Byron; sisters, Antonia Smith McCormack and Ollie Row; brothers, Brandon Sanchez and Eric Sanchez; stepbrother, Justin Sanchez; aunts, Shelia, Stephanie and Van; uncles, Rev. Jerome Smith, Pastor Jimmie Smith and Raymond; brother-in-law, Matthew McCormack; nieces, Alisea, Angela Berry and O'shawnna Ellis; nephew, Jimmie Smith; cousins, Shandera, Jahmal, Alonzo, Ernetta, Takisha, Vicky, Cindell, Brandy, Jimmica, Jimmie, Jimmecka, Kim and many others whom she loved dearly; devoted friends, Trinelle and Kim; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends from Louisiana, Texas and Virginia who she loved with all her heart.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 6, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
