Affectionately known to many as “Ki-Ki” or “Ki,” and “Betty” to her maternal grandmother, Kierra was born on December 24, 1991, to Gretchen N. Holmes and Edward R. Smith.
Kierra was a graduate of Hopewell High School, Class of 2010, and later enjoyed a fulfilling career in the financial sector until her health began to decline. Above all else, Kierra cherished time spent cuddling her beloved dog, Ava, and showering her with belly rubs. She treasured reading, family gatherings, took great joy in cooking together, and will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, contagious laughter, playful sense of humor, and long telephone conversations sharing lighthearted stories with those she loved.
Kierra was preceded in death by her grandmother, Eloise Smith; great-grandparents, George and Doreen Bradshaw, James and Elizabeth Holmes, Rufus and Rhoney (Peebles) Stith, and Jesse and Isabel Tucker; beloved great-aunt, Melanie “Mat” Williams; great-uncles, Robert Lee Stith and Rufus “Sonny” Stith; godfather, Reginald “Miami” Chestnut; and cousin, Rashon “Petey” James.
She leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by her devoted parents, Gretchen Holmes and Edward “Rendell” Smith (Tabatha); close friend, Reggie; and her adored fur-baby, Ava Sky. She is also survived by her loving grandparents, Andria Hill (Donald), Rodney Holmes, and Edward Smith; seven cherished siblings, Kaleja Holmes, Kemar Holmes, Kierra Booth, Marliqua Barnes, Kiara Smith, Cequan Frances, and Logan Jones; Godson, Jamik Holmes; devoted aunts, Christina Richardson (David) and Calandra Smith; godparents, Pamela Spivey (Cedric), Toshia Anderson (Roosevelt), and Percell Burrows; great-uncles, Charles Bradshaw and Edward Holmes; great-aunts, Gail Bradshaw, Ivory Adams (Jesse), Anna Tucker (Moses), Cynthia Graves, and Alonah Stith; along with special cousins, Shelley Redwine, Teruko Crawley (Marcus), Yvette Graves, Denita Olds, Twyla Bradshaw, and Cassidy Bradshaw. She will also be deeply missed by a protective band of male cousins who adored their “Ki-Ki”- Omari, Se’An, Zaire, Javonte, Jaquan, and JayTrez Holmes, Jacian Graves, and Tristan Graves-Evans - as well as best friend, April Jones Tyler; close friends, Tara Perry and Terquell Barnes, and a host of other dear cousins, relatives, and lifelong friends.
