Obituary

Keith Vincent Harris, 65, of Hopewell, Virginia, transitioned into eternity on November 25, 2025. He spent 292 days courageously fighting for his life following a tragic automobile accident. The accident occurred on February 6th, his late mother's birthday.  Keith never surrendered his will to live. His perseverance reminded us of the strength of the human spirit.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dennis; his loving mother, Etta Rozelia Harris-Giles; his sister, Marquetta D. Giles; grandparents, Willis T. Harris and Dorothy B. "Mama Dot" Harris; and his uncle, Leon Harris, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Elder Candise Nicholas (Elder Wesley Nicholas, Jr.); nieces, Danielle Bennett (Sedric), De'Ondrea Aguirre and Dejah Harrison (Maurice); nephews, De'Onte Giles, Zaire Nicholas and Kristopher Miller; great-nieces and nephews, Makayla, River, Zacari, Amirah, Gianna, Omari and Laveah; one great-great nephew, Blaise; aunts, Addie Lucinda Harris (Claude) and Sandra E.M. Harris; cousins: Craig Harris (Barbara), Alan Harris, Cynthia Arambarri (Patxi), Leona Linton (Joseph), Leon Harris, Jr. (Angela) and a host of beloved relatives, coworkers, and friends. Also close to him were two cousins he cherished deeply, Antwan Harris (Tara) and Corey Owens; his devoted friend, James DeCoit, Jr.; and two lifelong neighborhood friends, Jackie Goode and Paul Woods (Paco).

A proud graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1977. Keith played both football and baseball throughout his high-school years.  He was employed at Professional Maintenance Company in Hopewell, Virginia, where he served as a Janitorial Specialist. Keith lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His smile was sincere and his laugh unforgettable. He was a steady, comforting place to land in both struggles or celebration. Keith loved deeply and wholeheartedly. His wisdom, kindness, and support shaped the lives of those around him and left an indelible imprint on our hearts.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, staff, and care team at Westport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Richmond, VA. Their dedication, compassion and care during Keith's nine-month journey will never be forgotten.

Though his physical presence is no longer here, his legacy remains alive in the love he gave, the strength he demonstrated, and the joy he brought into the lives of many.  Our family remains profoundly grateful for every milestone and every moment God allowed him to overcome. As we gather to honor and celebrate his life, may we hold tightly to every precious memory and be inspired by the cross that he carried.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
