Mr. Joseph Raymond Reese III "JAY", 28, of Prince George County, Virginia transitioned on February 8, 2026 at his home. Joseph was born on March 13, 1997. He was a diehard Washington Commanders fan and a graduate of Dinwiddie High School Class of 2016.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia "Florene" Reese whom he adored; great grandparents, Thomas Maye, Virginia Stewart, Helen Trotter, Dorothy Harris and Harold Harris; great-great grandfather, William Hinton; great uncles, Robert Harris and Ruben Baskerville; brothers, Andre Adkins and Rae'qwon Hinton; and his dear friend, Tony Crawford.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Peyton Reese and Braylen Reese; his loving and devoted mother, Denise Trotter Reese; his loving and devoted father, Joseph Reese, Jr.; loving and devoted sister, Bre'shay Trotter and bonus sister, Sidney Rodgers; devoted mother of his son Braylen. Leah Daye and devoted mother of his son Peyton, Keyona Pride.

Loving and devoted grandparents, Calvin and Gladys Trotter; loving and devoted grandfather, Joseph Reese, Sr.; loving and devoted  great grandfather, Robert Trotter. He is also lovingly remembered by his devoted aunts, Sabrina Maye, Cassandra Tabon, Mechonda Reese, and Tiffany Reese; devoted great aunts, Janice Harris, Brenda Trotter, Barbra Wilson (Donzell), Cynthia Streat (Ronie) Sylvia Maye, and Alice Reese; great-great aunts, Carrie Alexander and Ruby Hinton; great-great-great aunt, Elnora Evans; loving uncle, Jeremy Ulmer; great-uncles, Melvin Trotter (Charleen), Jerry Trotter (Cheryl), Earl Maye (Esther), William Maye, and Joe Baskervile; great-great uncles, Floyd Baskerville (Sally), George Baskerville (Rebecca), Arthur Baskerville, Eddie Hinton, and Carrol Hinton.

He was blessed with a loving and devoted godmother, Jewal Briggs; loving and devoted godfather, Samual Chavis (Robin) and bonus uncle, Antione Trotter (Cheryl).

Joseph cherished many cousins amongst them loving and devoted, Carlos Tabon III, Donzel Wilson, Chandrell Maye, Shawndrell Maye, Shantice Whitaker (Octavious), Ja'Vaughn Reese, Jamir Reese, Ronald Streat, Chanel Thomas, Wayne Maye, Anthony Harris, Yasmine Wilson, Deasha Walker, Cejay Hinton, Treyvon Maye, Raven Lee, and so many more.

Joseph also leaves behind a host of friends amongst them, Malik Barnes, Ronnie Price, Juan morgan, Anthony "moo moo" Taylor, Snap Hayes, Andrew Thorpe, Ray Ray, Hunter, Big O, and Darrell "Boobie" Allen, and so many more. A Special thank you to the entire West Petersburg family.

Though his time was brief Joseph's smile and unwavering love for his two sons and his family will live on in our hearts.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 20, 2026, at Petersburg Church of Christ, 234 N. South Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Carlos Jordan, eulogist.
