James C. Parham, Sr. was born on July 23, 1960, to the late John Parham and Nannie Rose Parham in the Pocahontas Island Community of Petersburg, VA. He departed this life on August 6, 2026.

James attended Petersburg Public Schools and graduated from Petersburg High School, Class of 1979. After graduating, he enlisted in the military and served his county in the United States Navy. James attended his home church, Zion Apostolic Christian Memorial Temple, in Petersburg, VA. He was married to the late Robin Parham.

James leaves to cherish his memories his children, TeJuan Parham, Shauntea Parham and James Parham, Jr,; seven grandchildren, Justin Hyman, Jaden Hyman, Janyaah Parham, James Parham III, JaShaun Parham, J'vion Parham and Jahleiah Parham; siblings, Timothy Parham, Sr. (Dorothy), Joseph Parham, Nat Parham (Maxine), Mary Sellers, Agatha Forte-Lansey, Nannie Preleau, Faye Harris and Dorothy Walker (Lankey); mother-in-law, Dorothy Herndon; nieces and nephews, Timothy Parham, Jr., Anthony Evans, Laquall Gates, Lachelle Gates, Donald Forte, Donnell Parham, Mark Thompson, Larry Forte, Carl Forte, Tonya Forte, Yvette Forte, Eric Forte and John Forte; in-laws, Victoria Stewart, Troy Mercer, Cynthia Tucker and Shelia Mercer; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
