James Wayne Chambliss, 64, of Petersburg, VA, was born on April 19, 1960. He departed this life on March 19, 2025, at Glenburnie Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Richmond, VA.

James, affectionately known as "Burger" of "Dream", attended Calvary Baptist Church, Yale, VA and was retired after working many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed baseball and watching wrestling.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Rebecca Ifill; grandmother, Lillian Hamlin Chambliss of Yale, VA; grandfather, Clifton K. Chambliss; brother, Larry E. Chambliss; sisters, Denise A. Bailey of Virginia, Maggie Westbrook of Yale, VA, Hester Smith of Stony Creek, VA and Sallie Perry of Richmond, VA; and his uncle, Tom H. Chambliss, Sr., of New York.

James leaves to cherish his memories his siblings, Todd L. Ifill of Petersburg, VA, Shoranda Ifill of Griffin, GA, and Sheldon Chambliss, Leonard Ifill and Darrell Ifill (Shawneequa) all of New York; nieces, Shawequa Ifill, Jasmine Ifill, Danielle Chambliss, Damiyah Bailey, Divani Bailey, Ella Ellington and Eva Ellington; nephews, Derrick Bailey (Diamond), Cameron Ellington, Tevin Ellington, Darrell Gram, Elijah Ifill and Deion Bailey; cousins, Tom H. Chambliss, Jr. (Gladys) and Rashaad L. Chambliss (Lisa); devoted friend, Frances Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 29, 2025 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at The Moore-Chambliss Family Cemetery.
