Herman "Skeeter" Brown, Jr.

Herman "Skeeter" Brown, Jr. was born on June 15, 1938, in Southampton, VA to the late Herman Brown, Sr. and Channie Wyche Brown. He departed this life on September 7, 2026, at Creekside Post Acute, Hopewell, VA.

Herman attended St. Mary A.M.E. Church in Sebrell, VA. He developed welding skills and became a welder by trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Along with his parents, Skeeter was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Robert and James; sisters, Rosa Mae Taylor, Ethel Turner and Hattie Williams; and his son, Norman Brown.

Skeeter leaves to cherish his memories his children, Wallace Brown, Calvin Brown, Melvin Brown, Kent Brown and Rex Brown; sisters, Reverend Elree Hayes and Lucil Brown; devoted family member, Ammie Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Care Memorial Gardens, 18633 Wakefield Road, Courtland, VA, Apostle Audrey Mitchell, eulogist.
