On Friday, September 5, 2025, God called home His daughter, Helen Christina Jones, 82, of Petersburg, VA. She was born on October 12, 1942, to the late Willie Jones and Mamie Field-Jones. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Dorothy Lyons and Bernice Thomas all of Petersburg, VA; brother, William Jones, Jr. of Petersburg, VA; brother-in-law, Fred Shippy, Jr. and two grandsons, Andrè Jones and Richard Antonio Jones.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Cynthia Parham, Michelle McQuay (Guessner) and Kimberly Jones; son, Clyde Jones; sisters, Deloris Shippy, Sarah Epps and Tina Jones all of Petersburg, VA, and Carrie Norwood of Richmond, VA; devoted grandchildren, Christine Jones, Shemmeka Ward and Johnshelle Jones; great grandchildren, Diamond Jones, Ariyanna Jones and Ronnehja Coleman; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Helen was a former employee of Southside Regional Medical Center (now Bon Secours Southside Medical Center) for over 20 years until she suffered from an injury which led her into retirement. She also was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church for many years where she was a member of the choir. She loved gospel music as well as watching her Westerns. She made herself available to all that had a need. She was a very loving person that was always willing to show up and assist others. She kept a beautiful, bright smile on her face and would pray daily for those in trouble. She will truly be missed by her friends and family.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 South Crater Road, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Jeffrey L. Reaves, Sr., Pastor. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

A wake will be held from 8:30 P.M. until 9:30 P.M., Friday, September 12, 2025, at the funeral establishment.
