Evangelist Ernest
Brown
Jun 25, 1973 — Mar 21, 2025
EVANGELIST ERNEST BROWN was born June 25, 1973, in Montclair, New Jersey, and attended Montclair Public School System. He excelled academically and graduated from high school in less than three (3) years' attendance. In his graduation year of 1991, Ernest was voted the team captain of the varsity bowling team and was recognized "honorably mentioned" by the State of New Jersey as one of its best bowlers.
EVANGELIST ERNEST BROWN commenced his professional career at Cambridge Corp/Prudential in Newark, NJ, and later devoted his talents to the Township of Montclair Police Department from 2004 to 2021 in the traffic bureau until his relocation to Petersburg, Virginia.
EVANGELIST ERNEST BROWN was raised in church as a youth and accepted the Lord as his Savior as a teenager. In the Summer of 1994, Ernest joined Works Ministry in Montclair, NJ, under Pastor/Prophet Charles P. Washington. To further his biblical training, Ernest attended Matthias Prophetic Institute in Newark, New Jersey (1995) and received his certification in Evangelism. In 1996, Ernest accepted the call to Christian ministry and was licensed and ordained as an Evangelist.
In 1997 Ernest moved to Everest, NC and joined the House of Refuge in Robersonville, NC under Pastor Ronnie Staton. During his time there, Ernest excelled in the Outreach Ministry and was licensed as an Evangelist.
In 2001, Ernest returned to New Jersey and joined Christ Temple Church Ministries in 2003 under the leadership of the late Dr. Willie C. Tolbert, Sr. After evaluation and training, Evangelist Brown was elected to the Board of Ministers and remained an active member under Pastor Nana Ossei Owusu. Evangelist Brown has served in many capacities in the ministry. He served as one of the Pastor's Armor Bearers for Dr. Denise Tolbert, as well as the Men's Ministry Team Leader for many years. In addition, he received certification as an Ordained Minister from The International Congress of Churches & Ministers Chattanooga, TN (2014) and licensed Ministerial credentials from Christ Temple Church Ministries in 2015. In October 2023, he accepted the position as the City Chaplain of the Petersburg Police Department, Petersburg, VA.
In November 2023, he received his ordained Evangelistic credentials. Evangelist Ernest Brown has received many awards and accolades, but he is most proud of his ability to evangelize and win souls for the Kingdom.
In 2002, he met the love of his life, Lorraine Brown and they became instant friends. They later married at Christ Temple on October 13, 2007. Their love of God led them to further their call to ministry together. They lovingly raised their blended family together. Ernest was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. His transition has left a void in the hearts of those who loved him.
