Born August 8, 1990, Errol Jamal Pettiford has arrived. Errol grew up being the class clown, but his smile and intelligence always illuminated the room no matter where he went. He was courteous, courageous, and fearless, no matter what ominous aura may have come his way. Errol always wanted to keep family and friends connected to one another. Whether it came to business, gatherings, or just small talk, he always saw the best in people, even if they didn't have a righteous path.

Living in New York City, he helped and encouraged many to strive for their dreams. Some people may not have agreed with his philosophy, but his vision couldn't be denied because you couldn't help yourself but to draw to his leadership and sense of liberation. It's still unreal that he passed away to senseless gun violence, becoming a statistic to this society we live in which he tried to avoid that by moving altogether. He truly believed that he could achieve peace amongst the world, even if you envied him because he wanted the best for everyone who came across him.

Errol attended P.S. M.S 3 in New York and Wings Academy where he grew up with his mother, Maria Pettiford and father Errol Fennell. Errol liked playing chess, basketball, and wrestling. He always had a smile on his face and will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind his loved ones, devoted girlfriend, Keyonna Slaughter; loving mother, Maria Pettiford; father, Errol Fennell; brothers, Khalil and Jameel; sisters, Charmela and Brieanna Fennell; grandmother, Barbara Pettiford; grandfather, William Fennell; uncle, Charles Pettiford; stepmother, Annette Gibbs; and a host of stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
