Eric S. Walker, affectionately known as "Big E", age 58, transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 5:30 P.M. Eric was born on July 22, 1967, in Petersburg, Virginia, to Ernestine Walker and Grady Williams.

Eric attended Petersburg High School and was a devoted member of Victory Ark Ministries. He was well known for his infectious smile and remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. He truly never met a stranger—whether someone had known him for years or had just met him, Eric had a special way of making them feel like family. His quick wit, sense of humor, and gift for making others laugh brought joy to countless lives and left lasting memories for all who knew him.

Eric was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ernestine T. Walker; his father, Grady Williams; his eldest son, Charles Holmes; and his oldest brother, Raynard Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, DaJuan Holmes (Ayonna) and Damian; his grandchildren, Elijah Scott, Hunter Holmes, and Harmony Holmes; his brothers, Forrest Walker and Craig Walker (Janice); his sister-in-law, Betty Walker; his nephews, Miquel Lewis ("Mikey") and Marantz Walker (Desiree); his niece, Myra Walker; his special friend, Natalie Brown; and his best friend, Jerome Walden.

He also leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Victor D. Wheeler, eulogist.
