Obituary

Elder Roberta Morton, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith, passed away at the age of 68. Born on September 24, 1956, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, was born to Marie Lovett(mother deceased) and Robert Gordon (father deceased) and had three sisters from her Mom and a brother from her Dad, Angelina Portilla (deceased) Rose Marie Jones (deceased) Saundra Lovett (deceased) and a brother John Brown(deceased). She also took care of her sister Saundra grandson as her own Cortez Lovett (deceased).

Roberta leaves behind the love of her life, Peter Morton, of 34 beautiful years. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion. After marrying, Roberta later relocated to Virginia, where her compassionate spirit continued to shine.

She was a proud and loving mother to four daughters, Frances Lovett (Roger), Camila Scott (Eric divorced), Georgetta Lovett (Demetrius), and Minnie Lovett (Jay). She leaves behind all her grandchildren, Jaquan Lovett (two children), Yahsin Stephens (three children), Lashonta Lovett (four children), Qwantre Lovett (one child), Shaone Lovett (two children), Erykah Scott, Shayqwan Lovett, Nyaria Scott, Shiunna Lovett (one child), Ariana Scott, Shiheem Lovett, Charity Lovett, Aurealius Williams, and Jacob Curley; and her sister, Saundra grandchildren that she took care of Rayquan Lovett, Sabrina Lovett and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. Roberta's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew her not only as Nana but as their superhero.

A true woman of God, Elder Roberta Morton preached at several churches throughout her life. Her ministry wasn't limited to the pulpit-she extended her love through action, tirelessly giving back to those in need. She volunteered at a local community center, where she not only offered helping hands but also a warm heart and listening ear. Roberta was known for her homecooked meals, especially her delicious cakes, which brought comfort and joy to many.

Roberta had a rare gift for speaking life into those around her. She carried the burdens of others as if they were her own, always offering wisdom, strength, and prayer. Her presence could lift even the heaviest hearts, and she was truly the glue that held her family together.

To the world, she was Pastor Roberta Morton-a woman of grace, strength, and faith. But to those who loved her, she was so much more: a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud Nana, and a source of unconditional love and inspiration. She was a pure and beautiful soul whose legacy will live on in every life she touched.

She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
