Devon Jamye Thomas, lovingly known as "DJ," "Devon The Barber," and "Fat Fat," was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, friend, mentor, and community philanthropist whose presence touched countless lives. Devon's warm spirit, infectious smile, and genuine love for others will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Devon was preceded in death by his daughter, Londyn Camille Thomas, and his grandmother, Celestine Thomas.

Devon graduated from Hopewell High School and later attended Paul Mitchell Cosmetology and Beauty School in Florida. He also completed training as an Electrical Technician at John Tyler Community College in Chester, Virginia. Always striving for growth and excellence, Devon was recently enrolled in Cyber Security courses.

Devon had a deep passion for music and barbering. He became widely known throughout his community as a talented and dedicated barber who looked forward to serving local schools and neighborhood families. Devon took great pride in recently opening his own barbershop, Premium Cutz, where he spent much of his time building connections, uplifting others, and doing what he loved most.

Devon never met a child who was not touched by his love, kindness, and generosity. He naturally became a mentor, protector, and role model to many young people in his community. Those especially close to him included, Lyric Phelps-Bey (goddaughter), NaZiyah Street (goddaughter), Aniyah Flowers, Justice and Jarvezz Brown, and Kei'Maya Jones.

Devon leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Amy Thomas; father, Jamanzeo Hines (Savvy); and stepfather, Ravanna Nelson-Bey; his grandparents, Delores Hines and Levon Thomas; his devoted sister, Brittany Thomas; his aunts, Karen Branch and devoted uncle, Rolandus Branch, Burgina Thomas, Levonia Thomas (Vaughn), Lillian Jackson, Yvonne Sheba Lyons, and Deborah Gray; his great-aunts, Gloria Thomas, Linda Gilchrist, Joanne Crockett, and Carolyn Flowers-Saunders; his cousins, Kametra Lassiter (Aaron), Rolandus Branch, Jr., Makayla Prosise, Varity and Venus Halyard, Azariah, Zaya, and Aari Lassiter, Jamaal Phelps-Bey, Bernard Ponton-Bey, Mekiyah Kidd-Bey, Jasmine Phelps-Bey, Mark Phelps-Bey, Darrius Flowers, Donquell Thomas, Lorenzo Flowers, Quincy Flowers and Deon Thomas; his devoted friends, whom he considered brothers and sisters, Robert Tucker, Marvin and Marquis Raines, Jarvezz Brown, John Jones, Jetori Tucker, Devanté Ennis, McKindley King, Chris Holloway, Michael Bediako, David Gholson, David Rose, Connie Mulrain, Carrie Chapman, Tyquasha Brown, Tyjana Simmons, Eboni Tucker, Quianna Reid, Essence Allen, Tomesia Tucker, Alexus Fells-Tucker, Latonya Maclin and Joanie Jones; honorary mentions include: Angela Tucker, Lavern Wyatt, Lashanda Harrington, Vanessa Thomas, Debra Gilyard, Morgan and Zaneta Curry, and Sam Campbell.

Devon's legacy of love, laughter, service, and dedication to his family and community will continue to live on through every life he touched. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever remain present in the hearts of those who loved him most.
