DeSharri A. Jones “Sharri/“Spazz”

DeSharri A. Jones, affectionately known as “Sharri” by family and friends and as “Spazz” within the motorcycle community, was born on October 1, 1979, and departed this life on September 20, 2026.

DeSharri was a proud graduate of Hopewell High School, Class of 1997, a United States Army veteran, and a dedicated customer service professional with Anthem. Throughout her life, she embraced many meaningful roles—as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

DeSharri lived a life defined by strength, love, independence, and creativity. She was a woman who could never easily be placed in a box. She enjoyed bartending, hosting, creating, and most of all, riding her motorcycle. Whatever role she embraced, DeSharri brought her own personality, light, and unmistakable energy. She was adventurous, fearless, and unapologetically herself.

DeSharri was preceded in death by her father, Roy Jones; brother, Rasheed Jones; paternal grandparents, Mr. Albert and Lue Jones; maternal grandparents, Rev. Andrew and Lorriane Jones; uncles, Eugene Jones and Algin Jones; aunts, Lilian Graves, Maezelle Brown, Agnes Lee, and Josephine Jones; nephew, Lamar Bowman; and cousin, Robert Allen.

DeSharri leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, DeAntae Jones and Raheem Jones both of Hopewell, Denazja Jones of Petersburg, and Ra’Niah Jones and William Leake, Jr. both of Henrico. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to: Noah Jones and Baby Jones both of Hopewell.

DeSharri was the cherished daughter of Shirley Allen (John) of Hopewell and the late Roy Jones. She is also survived by her brothers, Andre Jones of Hopewell, Roy Jones of South Carolina, and stepbrothers, John Allen, Jr. and Corey Allen both of Hopewell; her sister, Isoke Griffin of Henrico; and stepsister, Monica Robinson of Chester.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her devoted aunt, Laura Jones, affectionately known as “Aunt Katie,” of Hopewell, along with a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Among them are Eshaya Pettaway, Lyric Griffin, Milan Griffin, TyAndra Cooper, La’Quayle Agurs, Shenya Allen, Shamar Allen, and Dashaun Jones-Griffin, affectionately referred to as her “favorite nephew.” DeSharri’s legacy also continues through her great-nieces and great-nephews, Journie Pettaway, Josiah Pettaway, J’sahn Pettaway, and Saint Jones-Griffin.

Though her time on earth has come to an end, DeSharri’s presence will live on—in the stories her family tells, in the laughter shared at family gatherings, in the things she created with her own hands, in the rumble of motorcycles on the open road, and in every person who carries a piece of her spirit forward.

She was born with the sunrise and departed with the sunset, but the light she brought into the lives of others will never disappear.

DeSharri A. Jones will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

May she ride free.
