Deloris Ann
Harris
Apr 22, 1960 — Aug 31, 2025
"She Fought a Good Fight"
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Deloris Ann Hobson Harris, affectionately known as "Pukie Deli D" and "Bird," peacefully departed this life in the comfort of her home in Petersburg, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Lucy Mae Harrison Hobson; her father, Millard Hobson, Sr.; her brothers, James Hobson, Sr. and Millard Hobson, Jr.; her sister, Brenda Brown; and many other cherished relatives who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Deloris proudly graduated from Petersburg High School in 1978. She spent many years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pioneer Home Health Care, caring for others with compassion and commitment. She also worked at Hawk's Barbecue and Almanac Stamp Company, always striving to provide for her family.
From an early age, Deloris dedicated her life to Christ through baptism. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Petersburg. She loved singing, dancing, and spreading joy to everyone she knew. Her heart was generous—so much so that she would happily give her very last to help someone in need.
Deloris was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her love for family was unwavering, and her presence brought laughter, comfort, and strength. She leaves behind her daughters, Tiffany Hobson Lanier (Dante), and Charlene Renee Jones (Anthony); her son, Charles Hobson (Tiffany Byrd); her siblings, Yvonne Hobson, Kennedy Hobson (Rosa), and Andre Hobson (Roe); her grandchildren, Shaniqua Hobson (Terrell), Marcus Hobson, Capedro Tyler, Daquan Tyler, Vince Nicholas III, TyQze Hobson, Yusef Hobson, Marion Hobson, Maryianna Hobson, Charlesia Hobson, Kareena Harris, Raheem Hobson, Ar'Mon Wayne Maxey, Deisha Miller, Ann Moore, and Keisha Johnson; nineteen great-grandchildren; dear friends, Clarence Daily, Lisa Gill, Sherri, Tammy, Meechi, Lisa Myers, Tina Jones and Margret Mason; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved G-Block family.
The family sincerely thanks the nurses and doctors who cared for and comforted Deloris during her illness at AT Home Care & Hospice, as well as New Beginning Church, which was incredibly supportive of our beloved Deloris. We also thank our sister, Charlene Jones, who cared for our mother until her final days, and all the family and friends who surrounded her and her children with love and support throughout her journey.
Deloris's radiant smile, kind spirit, and selfless love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She truly fought a good fight, lived a life full of love, and left a legacy of faith, joy, and generosity.
