Delois R. Ellis departed this life on January 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born November 9, 1943, to Rosa M. Claiborne and Jesse James Easter in Hopewell, Virginia.

Delois was a wife and homemaker.  She was educated in the Hopewell Public Schools. She enjoyed spending time with family. Delois also loved to cook, dance and watch Westerns.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa M. Claiborne; father, Jesse James Easter; and her stepfather, James H. Claiborne; sister, Barbara A. Powell; brothers, Issac Claiborne, Jessie J. Easter, Jr., Albert E. Easter and Stewart L. Easter; and her granddaughter, Marie Ellis.

Delois leaves precious memories to her children, Rose Lauray (Keith), Linda Ellis, Jacob Ellis (Semetria) and Waverly Ellis, Jr.; grandchildren, James Ellis (Tony), Shawnda Ellis, Darnica Ellis, Valerie Ellis, Chris Ellis, Anthony Ellis (Mook), Katrina Williams, Shade Williams, Durrell Dickens, Jaenesha Ellis, DaeShawn Jefferson, RaeShawn Jefferson, Shamaree Vincent and Serenity Ellis; great grandchildren, Gregory Moore III (Trey), Ga'von Moore (Von), ZyQuon Williams, Janiya Williams, Dakari Williams, Aarnaja Greene, Kazyiah Williams, Khloe Williams, London Ellis, ZaKari Ellis, Daevon Dickens, Daejour Dickens, Darnell Pettaway, Jr. and Durrell Dickens, Jr.; sisters, Mandy Kelly, Selica Ellis, Recia Ellis, Magnolia Easter, Shirley Baccus and Annie R. Weeks; brothers, Clarence "Tuggator" Easter and William Ellis; special friend, Betty Arthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Sunday, January 11, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
