Deaconess Addie
B. Parham
Oct 8, 1938 — Apr 23, 2025
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8
On Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2025, GOD called home our beloved mother, Deaconess Addie B. Parham, age 86, of 314 New Street, Waverly VA. She was born on October 8, 1938, in Waverly, VA to the late Claude and Vallie Bridgeforth Bolling. She attended Sussex Training School. She worked at the Seward Sewing Factory, Waverly Furniture Company, and Waverly Drugstore. Addie was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church and served in several capacities with her favorite role being over the hospitality committee.
Addie Parham married the love of her life, the late Oscar J. Parham, and they were married for 60 years. From that union, four children were born: Sherry Wilkins (the late Elder Dennis Wilkins of Waverly, VA.), Arlene Perry (Carlton Sr.) of Waverly, VA, Donna Hines (Larry) of San Antonio, TX, and Damian Parham (Hope) of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by eight wonderful grandchildren, Katrina Perry, Carlton Perry, Jr. (Dominique), Tamika Stirrup (Sterling), Larry Hines II, Jaela Porter(Jamond), Kera Parham, Luke Parham and Jonathan Wilkins (Kierra) (she was preceded in death by one grandson, Dennis Wilkins, Jr.); five great grandchildren, Kinsley Wilkins, Ivy Wilkins, Addison Wilkins, Savannah Stirrup and Taliah Stirrup; one sister, Lucy Thomas of Waverly, VA; two sisters-in-law, Lue Taylor of Waverly, VA and Virginia Bolling of Waverly, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (dear friends, Emma Taylor of Waverly, VA and Laverne Winfree of Richmond, VA).
Addie B. Parham will be truly missed by all who knew her, but we find comfort in knowing she is in the presence of the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt - just a good person. She was respected and loved by everyone in community. She enjoyed helping and nurturing people. She loved the Lord and working at her church. She was well-known for her famous milk shakes and ice cream cones at the Waverly Drug Store. She was always full of encouragement, giving you good advice, sharing the history of Waverly - always there for her family. She went home knowing that our hearts overflow with love for her and for the Lord from whom we draw our strength. She will forever live in our hearts and thoughts. She taught us so many life lessons.
She was a PHENOMENAL woman!!!
"We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." II Corinthians 5:8
