Cynthia L. Potts, age 67, of Richmond, Virginia, left her earthly home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, March 6, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Luther and Gladys Potts. She resided on St. Luke Street in Petersburg, Virginia.

Cynthia was baptized at an early age at Oak Street A. M. E. Zion Church in Petersburg, Virginia, where she regularly attended Sunday School and worship services.  She was an accomplished pianist who shared her gift with the congregation on many Sundays.

Cynthia received her early education through the Petersburg Public School System, where she attended the former Virginia Avenue Elementary and Peabody Junior High School. She was a graduate of Petersburg High School, Class of 1977. While a student there, she served as a proud member of the Crimson Wave Marching Band having played the Clarinet. Cynthia further her education having attended John Tyler Community College, Virginia Commonwealth and Capella Universities.  She was formerly employed as a Program Analyst with the Computer Sciences Corporation.

In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hook. She is survived by a host of cousins and friends, one devoted, Regina Shands Wilson.

A memorial gathering will be held 6:00 P.M, Saturday, May 23, 2026 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenuue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Barry O. Brown, Sr., eulogist.
