On Sunday, March 22, 2026, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather entered into eternal life.

Cornell David Leewood was born on October 11, 1934 in South Boston, Virginia to the late John W.P. Leewood and Beatrice Jones Leewood.

He attended the public schools of South Boston, Virginia and graduated from Halifax High School.

Cornell married Mary Boyd on October 27, 1957. From this union came one daughter and one son, Crystal L. Morris of Prince George, Virginia and Cornell D. Leewood, Jr. who preceded him in death.

Cornell was an avid gardener, loved bowling and very active in community activities.

Cornell leaves to rejoice in his memory, his beloved wife, Mary; daughter, Crystal; granddaughter, Janine; great grandson, Rider; son-in-law, Steven; grandson-in-law, Adrian; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; several nephews, nieces and friends.
